Cops seek clues in girl's death

Homicide detectives investigating the death of a two-year-old Toronto girl are asking anyone who babysat her to come forward.

Adrianna Maria Henriques DaSilva died Sept. 9 of dehydration. Her mother, Clara DaSilva, 22, is charged with manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death.

Police sources have told The Toronto Sun the child's mom was allegedly partying and had left the girl alone for up to 25 hours in a non-air-conditioned, fourth-floor apartment on Biggin Ct., in the Victoria Park and Eglinton Aves. area.

Clara DaSilva is out on $25,000 bail with strict conditions amounting to house arrest at her father's home.

Homicide Det.-Sgt. Cory Bockus said police need help from people who know the child or had babysat her in the past month. Anyone with information should call 416-808-7391.
