Alberta: Mother to be assessed
National PostCALGARY - Crown prosecutors are expected to ask for a psychiatric assessment today on Rie Fujii, who appears in court on a charge of failing to bury her 15-month-old son. Other charges could be brought against Ms. Fujii, 23, whose three-month-old daughter is missing and believed to have been set adrift in the Bow River. Calgary police said yesterday the search for the baby's body has been suspended. Ms. Fujii's parents, contacted in Japan, said their daughter had not told them she had children.
