Gillian and Michael Ferraz separate. Gillian takes custody of the children.

Ralph Hadley and Gillian commence dating.
July 21, 1997

Ralph and his cousin, Gordon Baines, jointly (50-50) purchase a house. Ralph insists on splitting his share of the house with Gillian. Gordon Baines lives in the basement apartment, Ralph and Gillian and Gillian's children live on the main floor.
October 2, 1997

Divorce of Gillian and Michael Ferraz finalised.
October 18, 1997

Ralph Hadley and Gillian marry.
February 24, 1999

"Temporary" custody of Mikey Farrez, Jr. awarded to Michael Farrez, Sr. his biological father, and Mikey does not return to the Hadley household of his release from hospital.

Charges withdrawn, Section 810 Peace Bond issued with the following conditions
  1. surety with no deposit ($500.00)
  2. associate and communicate with Michael Ferraz, Jr. at the discretion of the Children Aid Society and in accordance with any Family Court Order.
  3. keep the peace and be of good behaviour
(NB. This drops the inclusion of Chase Hadley from the previous order.)

Gillian Hadley and Clark Kostyshyn go to a hotel together for a couple of days at Christmas time. Gillian Hadley lies to Ralph about where she was.
January 7, 2000

Gillian kisses Ralph goodbye, and heads off to breakfast with Kim Nicely and then to Clark Kostyshyn's residence. Brian and Lisa Parish wake Ralph who is asleep at his house. Ralph Hadley follows Lisa and Brian Parish to Clark's house, where he discovers Gillian and Clark Kostyshyn in bed. Ralph waits outside for Gillian and when she comes there is a disturbance -- and Ralph slaps Gillian. Ralph leaves Gillian in the case and re-enters Clark's residence. Gillian exits the car and telephones Kim Nicely.
January 8, 2000

Police charge Ralph Hadley with:

  1. notify Durham Police within 24 hours of any change in address, employment or occupation
